For me, October is the most magical month of the year.
It is the time when everything seems to come to rest. It’s as if the earth takes a deep breath – and we breathe with it.
Brunch dates in the city turn into quiet coffee mornings in the still-warm sunshine on the balcony.
Outdoor adventures and swimming days become slow walks among the colorful leaves.
Summer parties and long nights become cozy evenings on the couch with tea and a blanket.

Yes, it is as if October finally gives you permission to come to rest.
Just doing nothing. Just being with yourself. Or just taking time for your loved ones – without any hurry.

In the same way October breathes more slowly than the months before, you may want to breathe more slowly, too.

Take this month to give yourself a lot of time for yourself. Allow yourself to look inward again instead of constantly giving to the outside.

To do this, you can write a list by answering those questions for yourself“What good can I do for myself? In what moments do I feel a sense of calm and serenity?”

From this fall checklist, you can pick one or more tools each day to simply be good to yourself.

  • Dance to your favorite song
  • Drink a hot chocolate (with marshmallows)

  • Do a guided meditation
  • Take a hot bath
  • Cook a pumpkin soup
  • Watch your favorite movie
  • Start the day with yoga
  • Clean up or rearrange your apartment
  • Just sleep in (without setting an alarm)
