In the mountains of Andalusia Spain, 30 minutes by car from the next bigger town with a supermarket and hundreds of meters from the nearest neighbor, we spent an Evano retreat in 2019 surrounded by the tranquility of nature. Daily walks through the olive groves, clear night skies, good food and extensive conversations far away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. A week full of slowing down and enjoyment.
Our house was an old converted farmhouse with a main house and an outhouse, which not only valued privacy in the surroundings, but also provided enough space for us inside the property. When our heating failed due to heavy rain, the neighbors at the end of the street were so helpful to give us firewood, so that we warmed ourselves together at the fireplace in the evening.
After a week, some of us flew back from Malaga, others traveled on to friends in Seville. But common to all, a little bit of sadness to leave behind this inspiring round and the little baby cat.
