This time we get to know Nella Kasurinen. With roots in Finland and based in Barcelona, Nella Kasurinen is an interior architect, designer and creative consultant. 1. Which situation or book changed your perspective on life?
There has been various situations that have affected the way I see life and many more to come but now, recent two years have been really important: I liberated myself from professional responsibilities by leaving leading a company, allowing myself to be more selective, calmer and concentrated on what I create. Observing from more far, taking perspective on things that were happening made me stop, focus and really listen h o w I want to continue.
2. Which 3 words are most powerful for you and why?
MIND – our mind is the most powerful source for everything: inspiration, health, love, uniqueness… There is only o n e mind like yours and the personality that rises from it, it is our greatest asset.
LIGHT – synonym for various powerful things for me, like positivity and lightness. We can’t take life too serious and always try seek the brightest side from each story.
PLANET – the whole life, future itself is determined based on the wellbeing of our planet. If we don’t consider its health the same way as we consider our personal needs, we don’t have a future. That concept only makes this word pretty damn powerful.
3. What is your mental timeout?
Standing in front of an open, empty horizon, away from built, constructed environment and distractions. Seeing ocean’s serene or stormy horizon, forest and endless lines of trees, a dry field or a fresh mountain view. In the built environment, among a city hustle our eyes are bouncing from building’s concrete facades into another and it is hard for the eye to catch a break… By letting the eye and mind to wander in the never-ending perspective without any limits gives me clarity, serenity and inspiration.
4. What does seek more than just success mean to you?
Being able to live a healthy and sustainable way the life that I design to live: grow, change and evolve. Create memories and experiences with my people, moments that can be the smallest and the most simple but so unique and rich of life.
